Juliana Lord, Associate, advises and advocates on behalf of employees in both the federal and private sectors. She has represented civil servants alleging whistleblower retaliation before the Merit Systems Protection Board and alleging discrimination before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ms. Lord also advises federal employees seeking reasonable accommodation.
Prior to joining Atkinson Law Group, Ms. Lord completed a legal fellowship with Crisis Action, a non-governmental organization advocating for civilian protection in armed conflict areas.
In law school, Ms. Lord worked as a student attorney in the Georgetown Civil Rights Clinic, taking on cases relating to prisoners’ rights and access to public information. She also participated in the Human Rights Institute’s yearlong Fact-Finding Practicum, where she investigated and analyzed whether the Assad regime’s attacks on healthcare constituted crimes against humanity.
Ms. Lord is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) and the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association (MWELA).
Ms. Lord is fluent in Spanish and enjoys wheel throwing, backpacking, choir, and community theatre.
